Sika Henry, an IRONMAN triathlete, is hoping to turn pro and is passionate about increasing diversity in the sport of triathlon where African Americans make up only 0.5% of the sport. Join us for a conversation with this impressive athlete changing our sport one race at a time.
Sika, a Customer Insights Project Manager for Ferguson Enterprises, has a degree in Economics from Tufts University where she was a collegiate high jumper and NCAA All-American athlete. She is also a 2-time marathon winner and competitive triathlete. Five months after a horrific cycling accident in April 2019, Sika competed at IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta, where she finished 6th female amateur overall – just missing qualifying for her pro card by less than 4 minutes. Two weeks later she crossed the finish line at the 2019 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
