The new Storm+ Vest is made from a lightweight softshell material we developed to be lightweight, breathable, extremely stretchy and waterproof with a combination of a C0 (non-PFC) DWR coating and superlight membrane. Superlight knit fabrics on the interior and exterior are recycled polyester which help to wick and maintain comfort. Versatility is the name of the game with our Storm+ Vest and we packed it full of features that make it easy to grab for almost any ride during shoulder season, especially in cool and wet conditions.
Starting with a waterproof softshell, we constructed the Storm+ Vest with taped critical seams (Chest/Back Seams) and patterned the piece to have no seams directly on the top of the garment to reduce the opportunity for rain or snow to seep-in. A waterproof, two-way zipper allows you to rapidly vent the vest as accessing the pockets of your jersey below to your items like phone and wallet you want to keep dry. Additionally, we added three large pockets to the exterior of the vest to store all your ride essentials including a zippered valuables pocket. The exterior pockets have a hidden micro-perforated fabric that allows any water that collects to drain through the bottom (we recommend storing electronics in your jersey pocket under the vest or in a waterproof wallet). Critical to a foul-weather outerwear piece is excellent visibility which we achieve by using 350+ lumens reflective taping and logos around the garment.
